Jackie Daniels Roller Derby Clinic

Hello!

Jackie Daniels will be coming to Lexington, KY to teach two days of an open-gender roller derby skating clinic. This clinic is open and available to skaters and training staff from all leagues.

LOCATION:
The Yard, 117 Westhampton Dr., Lexington, KY 40511

DATES & TIMES:
Saturday November 18th – 11am EST – 4pm EST
Sunday November 19th – 11am EST – 4pm EST

SCHEDULE:
-11am : check in / gear up / warm up
-11:30am – 330pm : clinic time
-3:30pm : cool down / gear down / pack up

DISCLAIMERS:
-The SAME CONTENT will be offered each day. We are hosting 2 days to offer more spots for attendees.
-No children.
-Parking lot is limited, street parking is also available. We highly encourage carpooling
-COVID vaccine card required, or negative COVID test result required 24 hrs prior to the clinic. You can email picture of vaccine card or negative test to rocktraininghead@gmail.com. If vaccine card or negative test are not received, you will be required to wear a mask for the duration of the clinic.
-Payment due at time of registration-Each day will MAX OUT at 45 on skates and 15 off skates participants each day.

COST:
Cost will be $45 for on-skates participants and will include 4 hours of clinic time.
Content will include BOTH blocking and jamming skills.
Each day will max out at 45 On-skates participants.
Off-skates participants can attend for $15 per day.
Off-skates participants are limited to 20 people per day.

Jackie Daniels is a roller derby veteran with over 18 years of experience, excelling both as a skater and a coach in this ever-evolving sport for more than 15 years. Jackie has dedicated herself tirelessly to the sport, displaying a rare combination of on-track prowess and off-track contributions. She’s been a formidable double threat from the very beginning and has represented the USA Roller Derby team in both the 2014 and 2018 World Cups.

As an original member of Grand Raggidy Roller Derby, Jackie played a pivotal role in the early growth and success of the organization, while actively fostering the roller derby community at large. Her leadership roles have been diverse, including serving as President, Head of Training, and Captain for WFTDA Top 10 teams like Windy City Roller and Texas Rollergirls. She’s truly a well-rounded individual in the world of roller derby, having experienced nearly every facet of it.

Jackie possesses exceptional communication skills and leadership abilities, ensuring rapid improvement for your skaters and enhanced team performance. Whether it’s coaching skating technique, blocking, jamming, or strategy, her extensive experience makes her one of the most knowledgeable and versatile coaches you can find. What sets Jackie apart is her adaptability—she doesn’t merely follow a rigid lesson plan but can adjust and refine her coaching in real-time to meet the specific needs and growth of the group.

Above all, Jackie is incredibly approachable and adopts a deeply humanistic approach. Despite her remarkable success, she’s navigated through injury, faced bullying, and endured challenging losses, making her relatable and empathetic to her students and fellow skaters.
